Welcome to term 3 in Room 2

This term we have some exciting events and learning happening.

Production
We will be learning how to act, use gestures and facial expression in preparation for our whole school production based on the story 'The Lost Thing' by Shaun Tan (links to the video is in the Performing Arts section of this website). We will also be learning how to make 3D art in order to make props for the production.

Corban Art Centre
On Tuesday 9th August we will go to the Corban Art Centre where the students will learn about making 3D art from recyclable materials. Andrew Hall is a practicing artist who is passionate about sustainability and recycling. He will be present during the visit to the Centre and will be inspiring and supporting the students' learning.

Keeping Ourselves Safe
During the first few weeks of this term we will be learning about how to keep ourselves safe in various situations. Taina (an outside facilitator) will be taking some of the sessions.

Science Topic: Magnets
Our learning intentions for this unit are:

Explain what a magnet is using scientific language
Identify the north and south poles on magnets
Understand that magnets repel and attract
