The Point Chevalier Enviro Club had a very special celebration on Friday 24th November to open our WWF funded vegetable gardens and fruit orchard and 'Turning on the Tap' for our new Rain Tank. The Maori Culture group welcomed the visitors into the new garden area. The celebrations included speeches written by the Enviro Club members, cutting of the ribbons and unveiling the WWF plaque. One child from every class helped to plant our new Pohutukawa Tree ( gifted to us by Auckland City Council in recognition of the efforts we made for World Environment Day) and it received its first drink from the Rain Tank.
